Adopting healthy habits becomes more important as we age. It dictates our ability to bounce back from illness, manage chronic conditions and live independently for as long as possible. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is committed to helping seniors live a healthy lifestyle and achieve a greater quality of life, leading our team to participate in a series of free health events for seniors that will be held at doctor offices across southeastern Michigan this June and July.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will offer a provider-led “Doc Talk” presentation and “mix-and-mingle” opportunity at each of the doctor office events. The events give senior community members a chance to meet a team of practitioners and learn about healthy habits they can take home and implement to reduce the risk of disease and chronic conditions. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions about common conditions, diet and lifestyle choices, healthcare, and Medicare Advantage Savings Programs.
Participants will receive a free fitness tracker and food box, while supplies last. The events are sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and collaborating practitioner offices. Blue Cross and Blue Care Network members and other seniors are encouraged to attend. No reservations are required for the wellness events, but registration is encouraged. If you plan to attend, please register online by visiting the website: FREE Senior Health Event with FREE Food Box and Fitness Tracker! (smartsheet.com)
Free wellness event transportation is available for Blue Cross and BCN members. Accommodations of persons with special needs are available.
Call 1-888-617-0468, TTY 711,to request transportation from Safe Ride. Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Use the passcode: Summer 2024.
