Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is among the top 101 companies to work for in the U.S., according to the National Association for Business Resources.
This year the association has named Blue Cross one of the “Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation” – a competition that honors companies who do an exceptional job communicating with their employees, providing work-life balance, offering education opportunities, recognizing their employees and retaining them.
In addition to its national award, the association recognized Blue Cross as a “Best and Brightest” company to work for in West Michigan and in Metro Detroit.
Due to its leadership in community initiatives and corporate responsibility, the association dignified Blue Cross with the “Elite” award recognition among Metro Detroit companies. Blue Cross is driven by a strong social mission to support the whole health of all Michiganders by facilitating and funding grants, donations and outreach efforts to support people and communities. These efforts expand access to education, healthy food, safe places for physical activity and quality, affordable health care.
Fourteen companies in Metro Detroit also received the “Elite” designation this year.
“These companies have shown fortitude and have inspired others to make critical decisions for the betterment of their teams,” said Jennifer Kluge, president and CEO, National Association for Business Resources and the Best and Brightest Programs. “They focus on the needs of their employees as a primary objective, and are the leaders of the Metropolitan Detroit community.”
The Best and Brightest award program is a national initiative to celebrate companies working to make better businesses, enrich lives and build stronger communities. It’s one of the ways Blue Cross has been recognized for its efforts to support its employees and to support the community at large.
Blue Cross has previously been recognized as a leader in inclusion and diversity in the workplace, as we’ve been included in Forbes’ Best Employers for Diversity List and been named by the National Organization on Disability as a Leading Disability Employer.
